Bad War Masterpiece

POSITION: Art Director
CLIENT: Personal project

The idea behind this project was to recreate
an oil painting from photographs found in stock galleries.
I wanted to recreate the picture into
a digital masterpiece. The final size of digital reproduction is 50x70cm.

Bad_war

Bad war is a name that refers to a particular feature of late medieval and Early Modern warfare that occurred when two opposing columns of pikemen often Swiss mercenaries or German Landsknechte met and became locked in position along a front of interleaved pikes. The original painting was made by Gerry Embleton.

For the painting, it was used in a total more than 150 pictures. The PSD document had something like 500 layers.
